Privacy Policy

Effective September 2, 2026

The short version

This is a static site. It has no accounts, no logins and no comment system. It does not sell data, and it does not run advertising networks that profile you across other sites.

What is collected

• Analytics. Google Analytics 4 records page views, approximate location at city level, device and browser type, and which links are clicked. This is used to decide what to write next. Google's handling of that data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
• Session recordings and heatmaps. Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used — scrolling, clicks, mouse movement and the sequence of pages visited — and replays it as an anonymised session. This is used for one specific thing: finding out how far down a page people actually read, which decides where things belong on it.Clarity masks text input by default, so anything typed into a form is not captured. Handling is governed by theMicrosoft Privacy Statement.
• Server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention.

What is not collected

• No names, addresses, phone numbers, or payment details — this site sells nothing.
• No account or profile is ever created for you.
• No data is sold or licensed to anyone, for any purpose.

Affiliate links and cookies

Links to Amazon carry a tracking identifier. Following one lets Amazon attribute a purchase to this site for 24 hours. That attribution happens on Amazon's systems under Amazon's privacy notice; this site never sees what you bought, only that a purchase in a category occurred. Opting out

• Analytics: install Google'sopt-out browser add-on, or enable your browser's tracking protection. The site works identically either way.
• Session recording: Microsoft provides aClarity opt-out, and any browser setting or extension that blocks third-party scripts stops it too. Nothing on this site depends on it running.
• Affiliate cookies: block third-party cookies, or use a private window.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you. This site holds no account, no mailing list and no database of readers — the only records that exist are the analytics described above, held by Google and Microsoft rather than here. If you want something looked into or removed,ask directly and it will be handled.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page rather than made silently.
